And speaking of security - the loans are always secured by the property or assets in question, which means that so long as you carefully appraise and review the value of the property before lending for it, your investment is largely secured.

This is a great way to generate income on capital that would otherwise be earning far less in a traditional mutual fund or investment product - with the added benefit being that you can directly help somebody get the financing they need, or get back on their feet.
